"Aha" Moments from Other Parents

Bedtime Bonus
When my son began coming home with reading assignments, we realized they provided the perfect opportunity for bonding two generations and keeping tabs on his 85 year old grandmother at the same time.
Alex reads bedtime stories to his grandmother (who lives in a different state) over the phone, describing the pictures and discussing his homework questions. Our son has greatly improved his skills, and we are able to check in with my mom on a near-daily basis without seeming intrusive. She says his calls are the highlight of her day.

Screen Star
When my daughter starting school, we were overwhelmed with artwork. I couldn't throw any of it out, so I canned it into our computer to use as a slideshow screen saver.  Now we see all of her artwork every day.  At year's end, we saved the images (as well as some photos) on a CD, so we can view these memories anytime.
